This is a pair of handmade fair trade dangle earrings from the Takataka Collection.
The earrings feature beads that are made of recycled paper materials, this pair has beads that were cut, colored and wound in such a way that it looks striped. They also have 3 small seed beads at the top of the large paper bead and one below. The earrings are for pierced ears and have French wire hooks that include plastic earring backs to help secure the earrings in place
This fair trade businesses slogan is "Turning Trash Into Treasure" and the word "Takataka" means trash in Kiswahili, the native language of the producer groups in Kisumu, Kenya that handmake these products. The two groups are called Creative Alternatives and AfrikaPamoja.
The earrings have a drop dangle length of 1.75" and the widest bead is about .25" thick.
These earrings come NEW still attached to their original cardboard package with information about the artisans in Excellent condition.
