This is an antique school plate from LS & S (Lazarus Straus & Sons) with a patent date of January 1882.
The transfer-ware plate is a beige-white color with a blue rim and brown capital and lower case letters of the alphabet, the numbers 1-20, and a clock face with roman numerals and hands pointing to the phrases "To Bed and Dinner".
On the back, is an English diamond dating code with H at the top, FE to the left, C to the right, and L at the bottom with SP in the center.
The plate measures approximately 7.25" in diameter and has a wire plate hanger included.
The pre-owned plate has crazing from age and some chips in the blue band on the rim.
