These are Boho Hand Woven Guatemalan Fabric Crossbody Bags for Concerned Crafts.
These large-sized crossbody bags are big enough to hold a small laptop or a full-sized binder. When laid flat they measure approximately 14" by 12" and have a gusset for a maximum depth of 3".
These bags are made of 100% cotton fabric. The front and back are woven by hand by an artisan in Guatemala. They feature the typical Guatemalan stripe pattern with repeating bird motifs. The rest of the bag is made of plain black cotton. The tops of the bags close with both hook and loop tape and zipper closures. The front has 3 additional zipper pockets, and the back has one zipper pocket. The bags have a plain black cotton strap with a swivel clip on one end. The bags are lightly padded with squishy foam and have a white lining. This particular bag is black with designs in a rainbow of bright colors
These bags are new old stock. They have never been worn, but have been in storage for 20 years. We have several of this style available, The pictures show an example of the style of bag you will receive. Because these bags are handmade, the exact colors and positioning of the patterns vary a little bit. The bag you will receive will be very similar to the one pictured.
Concerned Crafts was a non-profit organization that operated in the 90s with the mission of providing charities with goods for fundraising while allowing disadvantaged artisans to become self-sustaining. Goods were purchased by Concerned Crafts for living wages from artisans in Guatemala, India, Kenya, and Pakistan. These items are old stock from before Concerned Crafts ceased operations.
These bags are being sold for Cornerstone Community Outreach, a homeless shelter in Chicago.
